The bardic instrument of the Court of the Mandinque or Mandinka or Dinka Tribe of West Africa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandinka_people Their troubadours are called ‘Griots’ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griot Much hope they do not mind this weird Western digital reduction of their majestic lives. My apologies… but I was handed down a Kora when busking in the street on my little harp. I have it and gaze on it with awe but have not tried to tune the strings yet. Storme Watson is a magnificent player of Kora but when you see the griot at work we listen and learn. Saw a few together in the best cloths out dancing beneath the Sun at a small festival in Newport recently.
